CSK vs KKR, IPL 2024 Highlights: Chasing 138 runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s led Chennai Super Kings pulled the winning brakes of Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets on Monday in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

After this victory, Kolkata are still at the second spot in the IPL points tally with 6 points and a net run rate of 1.528. While Chennai moved up at the 5th positiomn with 6 points and a net run rate of 0.666.

For CSK, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 67 runs, while Daryl Mitchell (25) and Shivan Dube (28) dis contributed well. For Knights, Vaibhav Arora took two wickets, while Sunil Narine picked one.

However, the highlight of the match was fans getting ‘THALA’ (MS Dhoni)’s darshan, after Shivam Dube was bowled by Sunil Narine. At that time CSK needed only 3 runs to win in 18 balls. Dhoni scored 1 run, while the finishing runs were scored by Ruturaj – scored his maiden half century for the IPL season.

After losing the toss, KKR opened for batting, but kept on losing the wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 8 April. They scored 137/9 in 20 overs and gave Ruturaj’s CSK 138 runs target to chase. For CSK, Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets each, while Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets and Maheesh Theekshana clinched one.

Shreyas Iyer-led unbeaten Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to face defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 8 April from 7:30 pm onwards.

In the IPL 2024, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s CSK played 4 matches so far and won 2 of those. They won their first 2 matches, against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), but lost the other two back to back, against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

On the contrary, KKK have won all three matches they have played so far.

Chennai and Kolkata have played 29 IPL matches so far. CSK have won 18 of those and KKR 10. One match did not produce any results.
