IPL 2024, SRH vs RR IPL highlights: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals: Ruling the roost in the Indian Premier League season 2024, Rajasthan Royals bowlers Avesh Khan and Sandeep Sharma forced free-scoring Sunrisers Hyderabad to record their lowest-ever powerplay score in match No.50 of the tournament. Batting first after winning the toss, Pat Cummins and Co. posted only 37 runs in the first six overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Even though SRH never looked like posting a gigantic total after a disastrous powerplay, Travis Head and Nitish Reddy’s counterattacking half-centuries laid the foundation of a challenging target. Opener Head smashed 58 off 44 balls while all-rounder Reddy notched up his career-best score in the 20-over contest. Reddy remained unbeaten on 76 off 42 balls with an on-song Heinrich Klaasen (42*) to help SRH post 201-3 in 20 overs.

Chasing the daunting total, the Rajasthan Royals suffered twin setbacks as senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the better of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in his first over. The senior pacer handed ducks to Buttler and Samson before Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed half-centuries to revive the run-chase for the Royals. Staging a late comeback for the hosts, T Natarajan shared four wickets with skipper Pat Cummins to keep Hyderabad in the hunt. Rovman Powell then turned the tie on its head with his power-hitting in the death overs. However, Powell’s heroics went in vain as he was dismissed for 27 off 15 balls. In the 20th over, Bhuvneshwar bagged the wicket of on-song Powell on the final ball of the contest to set up a 1-run win for the Hyderabad side.
