According to sources in the know, however, he doesn\u2019t want to skip the BCCI\u2019s zonal tournament unless it\u2019s absolutely not possible to play. As India captain, he wants to set the right example. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gill leads a 15-member North Zone squad that includes the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Anshul Kamboj as well. The BCCI has made it clear that India players will have to play domestic cricket when they aren\u2019t on national duty. The Duleep Trophy will be played from August 28 to September 15 and Gill can only feature in North Zone\u2019s opening fixture against East Zone before going to the Asia Cup, where he is the vice-captain. But the young skipper wants to hit the right note and play the tournament opener, subject to clearance from the BCCI\u2019s medical team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
