India\u2019s star pacer Mohammed Shami has sent a strong message to the critics talking about his retirement. In an interview with News 24, Shami said that he would quit cricket only when he gets tired of playing the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf someone has a problem, tell me, if it is like their lives become better if I take retirement. Tell me whose life have I become a rock in that you want me to retire? The day I get bored, I will leave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The veteran pacer added that if he gets dropped from the national team, he will still keep trying hard in the domestics. \u201cYou don\u2019t pick me, but I will keep working hard,\u201d Shami said. \u201cYou don\u2019t pick me in international, I will play domestic. I will keep playing somewhere or the other. You have to make these decisions when you start feeling bored. That is not the time for me now.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shami was lethal in the 2023 ODI World Cup, emerging as the highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in just seven matches. The 34-year-old pacer revealed his wish to be a part of the ODI World Cup-winning team that remains unfulfilled so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI only have one dream left, that is to win the ODI World Cup. I want to be a part of that team and perform that wins the ODI World Cup and brings it home.\u201d added Shami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shami is currently playing in the Duleep Trophy for East Zone, where he bowled 17 overs and took the wicket of Sahil Lotra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
