After defeating Pakistan comfortably by seven wickets in the super-four\u2019s encounter of Asia Cup 2025, Surya said in the post-match press conference, \u201cYou guys should stop asking questions about the rivalry between India-Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAccording to me, if the two teams are playing 15-20 games, and the scoreline is 7-7 or 8-7, then it is called a rivalry\u201d, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c10-0, 10-1 \u2014 I don\u2019t know what the stat is, but this is not a rivalry anymore. I think we played better cricket than them (Pakistan), and also from a bowling point of view.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After India defeated Pakistan in the group match by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare, Ganguly said at an event, \u201cPakistan are no match. I say that with respect, it\u2019s just because I\u2019ve seen what their team was.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the lack of quality in the side. There is no competition I would rather watch India play Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, or even Afghanistan. Ganguly also praised the young left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma for his brilliant knock against Pakistan. Abhishek scored 74 runs in just 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 189.74. He was particularly strong on the leg side with most of his boundaries coming in that region.
