After being benched for the entire England tour, Kuldeep claimed his fifth five-wicket haul against the West Indies in the second Test in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLook, I think the obvious difference with Kuldeep is that he\u2019s a mystery spinner, and he\u2019s not the easiest to pick,\u201d said ten Doeschate at the press conference. \u201cSo I think that gives him an edge. He has an element of danger compared to the finger spinners. But also, I don\u2019t think we were a million miles off this afternoon\u2014you know, not to point fingers at the umpire at all\u2014but there were three very close decisions, and if even two of those had gone our way, it would have looked like a much better day for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKuldeep put the ball in the right areas and turned it both ways, and you can see how small the margins are and how he got the wickets in the first innings. It\u2019s just the difference between a play-and-miss and getting an edge\u2014and not getting the wicket. But I certainly think the fact that many of these guys wouldn\u2019t have faced much of him means that mystery element still makes him a bit more effective than the other two.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
