Team India batter KL Rahul believes that his retirement decision will not be hard for him to take, as he does not want to unnecessarily stretch his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on former England batter, Kevin Pietersen\u2019s YouTube channel, Rahul said: \u201cI\u2019ve thought about it. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be that difficult\u2026If you\u2019re honest with yourself, when it\u2019s time, it\u2019s time. And there\u2019s no point dragging it. Obviously, I\u2019m some time away. Just quit. Just enjoy the stuff that you\u2019ve got and you have your family and just do that. That\u2019s the hardest battle. So I try and tell myself that I\u2019m not that important. Cricket in our country will carry on. Cricket in the world will carry on. There are more important things in life. Ever since I\u2019ve had my first baby, the way you look at life is completely different.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India\u2019s next big assignment is the T20 World Cup, starting in a few weeks, but Rahul is not part of that squad. However, he remains an integral part of the Test and ODI set-ups. Recently, in the absence of Shubman Gill, he led India to a 2-1 victory against South Africa in the ODI series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rahul had an outstanding 2025, playing 14 ODIs and scoring 367 runs at an average of 52.42, batting in the lower middle order in most matches. He also played 10 Tests, scoring 813 runs at an average of 45.16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rahul also spoke about the tough phases of his career. \u201cThere have been times when I\u2019m injured, and I\u2019ve been injured so many times, and that\u2019s the hardest battle,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
