Former Team India captain Sunil Gavaskar expressed his disappointment over Sanju Samson\u2019s dismissal against New Zealand in the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-match series in Visakhapatnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during the commentary, Gavaskar said: \u201cMy first impression is that there was no footwork at all. I\u2019m not very sure whether there was any turn; the first impression was he was just standing there, making room and playing through the off side. Like I said, there was hardly any movement of the feet. Going outside leg-stump, once again exposing all three stumps\u2014and when you miss, the bowler\u2019s going to hit. That\u2019s what happened to Sanju Samson for the second time around.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Samson started well in Vizag, and it seemed like he could play a big innings. The wicketkeeper-batter hit three fours and a six in his 24-run innings off 15 balls at a strike rate of 160. However, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner cleaned up Sanju in the seventh over of the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Samson is going through a string of failures in this series. His scores in the first three matches were 10, six and a duck respectively. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan showed great form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as he was the highest scorer, with more than 500 runs. He also played a match-winning partnership with captain Suryakumar Yadav in the second T20I of the ongoing series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
